Ingredients:
- 1 cup Haizoom Sella Basmati Rice
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar (adjust according to taste)
- 1/4 cup mixed nuts (cashews, almonds, pistachios), chopped
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
- A pinch of saffron strands
- Rose water (optional)
Instructions:
- Rinse the rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a large pot, bring the milk to a boil. Add the soaked and drained rice to the pot.
- Cook the rice in milk on low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, until the rice is soft and the milk has thickened (approximately 30-40 minutes).
- Add sugar, mixed nuts, raisins, cardamom powder, and saffron strands to the pot. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
- Continue to cook the kheer on low heat for another 10-15 minutes until the flavors meld together and the kheer thickens further.
- Remove from heat and let the kheer cool slightly. It will thicken more as it cools.
- Stir in a few drops of rose water (if using) for added fragrance.
- Serve the Sella Basmati Rice Kheer warm or chilled, garnished with additional chopped nuts. Enjoy the creamy and delicious dessert!
